This was my first by Lisa Jackson but it won't be my last. Her writing is superb, her feel for the medieval period is genuine, her plot is interesting and the characters engaging. ENCHANTRESS captured me from the beginning. It's the first in a medieval trilogy that takes place in Wales (ENCHANTRESS, KISS OF THE MOON and OUTLAW). Jackson weaves foreboding from myth and legends, while still retaining the fundamental belief the characters have in the God of heaven, so as to capture the feel of another time and place where people were influenced by superstition and beliefs in forces of nature. They are simply wonderful All are well written. I recommend you read them in order as they are related and characters in the first show up in the last.Set in late 13th century Wales, ENCHANTRESS is the story of independent, headstrong Morgana of Wenlock, who has the gift of sight and visions she inherited from her grandmother. With her gift she has helped others, finding lost souls and even saving some from death. Now she will be called upon to help the handsome widower Baron Garrick Maginnis of Castle Abergwynn find his missing son. But Morgana dreads this "lord of the north" because she's seen a vision of a lord from the north bringing death. When the Baron comes to collect her and she is caught disobeying her father, her sire banishes her from Wenlock and gives her to the Baron, who is her father's liege lord, with the freedom to choose whom she will wed. Miserable, Morgana leaves her home vowing to return. But the adventure is only beginning for this wonderful girl. There's treachery at Abergwynn and the man who Garrick would give Morgana to--his cousin and a senior knight--is a man Morgana dreads.
You won't regret buying this one. It's a well told, captivating romance, a tale of love between the headstrong, noble girl and the bitter lord desperate to save his son even as greed and treachery swirl around them. I highly recommend it and it's going on my Best Medieval Romances list.

Lisa Jackson has become one of my favorite authors, her character's come alive and I am ready for the next in this.series.
If you like books from the past, you will love this one. Fast paces beautifully written. I will read again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing the whole time. A definite page turner. This plot was not predictable at all.
Lisa Jackson's books are all so good! I read all her books I can get my hands on. Try them, you won't be disapointed.
I put this book down several times in frustration. I finally forced myself to finish it. Garrick was ridiculous, he seeks Morgana's help to find out where his son is. He also plans to marry her to his cousin, a man she despises. Guess that's suppose to be a reward for her help. Morgana is treated poorly by her people and his people. Everyone believes she's a witch. She gets hints of things to come from a voice in the wind. The hints are so vague no one can know what they mean. Garrick is a man of honor so he waits quite a while before taking Morgana's virginity. He quickly informs her nothing has changed she will still marry his cousin. He had no redeeming qualities, but of course she loves him. The villain who has stolen the child was so apparent to me that even that held no interest. I was disappointed with this story.
I liked this book, although I was waiting for the brothers to reappear from the cliffs. I read a lot of her mysteries/thrillers so this was a change. I like her character development and the added twist of Morgana's special talents.
My heart 'skidded to an abrupt halt' a few times while reading this novel. I had to put it down as I anguished over my favorite characters and their plights. Garrick's mule headedness...Morgana's impetuousness...the boys Ware and Cadell...the missing baby...my heart can't take all of these plot twists, Lisa!! And so I give this 5 stars and I'm off to scour my app for the next book in the series. Let the roller coaster ride of emotions begin again! 😉
